NCFL Travel Sunday - March 24, 2019

 

The March 24th Travel Sunday event will be held at Stone Creek Golf Club in Ocala, 9676 S W 62nd Loop, Ocala, FL 34481, (352) 854-1272. The reviews for this course show 4.2 out of 5 stars on Golf Now and Golf Advisor, so we should be in for a treat.

 

Cost is $49.00 for members, $54.00 for guests and includes greens fee, cart, range balls, and potential for prizes.

 

The format will be Stableford.  The Stableford format is a stroke play tournament using a points system in which the goal is to gain the highest score.  A Stableford uses a points system established in the Rules of Golf, under rule 32, and are as follows:

 

• More than 1 over par (or no score returned) – 0 points [Double Bogey or Worse]
• One over par – 1 point [Bogey]
• Par – 2 points [Par]
• One under par – 3 points [Birdie]
• Two under par – 4 points [Eagle]
• Three under par – 5 points [Double Eagle]
• Four under par – 6 points

 

This will be handicapped.  Net scoring will be used as the score on each hole.  The golfer who has the highest score after 18 holes is the winner. 

 

Even if you do not have a handicap, you can still play.  You will not be eligible for for the Stableford competition prizes, but you can still compete for Closest to the Pin prizes.

 

We will be playing from the Silver Tees (5193 yds, 69.6 Rating/117 Slope).  If there are men playing, they will play from the Gold Tees (5665 yds, 67.3 Rating/113 Slope).  

 

Prizes will be awarded to the player(s) with the highest Stableford score(s).  

 

Prizes will also be awarded for "Closest to the Pin" on all par 3's.

 

Consecutive tee times will begin at 10:00 AM.

 

Last day to register will be Thursday, March 21st.

The golf course has asked us to collect fees in advance and make a single payment.  Please pay by credit card (VISA, MasterCard, Discover and American Express).  

 

Refund/Inclement Weather Policy.   Refunds (minus a $2.00 processing fees) will be allowed for cancellations made prior to the close of registration.  Refunds (minus a $2.00 processing fees) for cancellations made after registration closes are subject to approval by the event manager.  In the event of inclement weather and the entire round is canceled, full refunds will be provided.  A decision on inclement weather will be made on the morning of the event.
